150hp Merc Force info?

I am going to look at a 1992 150hp Merc Force this weekend.
The powerhead was replaced in 2002 and it has about 40 hrs on it.

Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about these motors?
I don't want to spend time and money on something I will regret down
the road. I plan on using it mainly on the CR and possible a few trips
a year out in the ocean. It's currently on a 20' glass boat.
Appreciate your input guys.

RUN!!! Don't lookback, there is a reason they were discontinued. If you have lots of disposable cash, like fixing things out on the water, and have good tow insurance, then get one. I really doubt there will be any favorable posts concerning Force motors. My buddy bought one years ago to save money, which he did by not replacing the starter. Ever pullstart a 150hp?

Have a friend who had sunk over the last 3 years over 3K in his. He just purchased a new Merc at the show in Portland. If you were to ask him it would be the same response that is stated above. Also if you do buy it don't look in the rearview mirror when you drive away unless you want to see the guy you bought it from rolling on the ground laughing his a** off.
