North River boats?
I am in the market for a NR seahawk boat.
Right now, I am looking for a 18.6 f boat.(with offshore brackets)
The 20 f is too big for my driveway.
I was told that I could check with NR directly and get a good deal.I tried to contact them, but i am not getting any replies.
Anyone knows if they are still around?
Anyone owns one of this beauty? seahawk?
Thanks

Re: North River boats?
Go to there web page and look for a dealer to go and deal with.
That would be your best bet.

Everytime I've called down to North River in the last month, I've either gotten ahold of someone immediately, or gotten a call back within the hour. They are still building boats, although just the Seahawks are being pre-built and sent to dealers. They will make you any boat they used to make, such as a scout or whatever, it would be made to order though. And while they no longer make the custom aluminum trailer, one of their former employees purchased the rights and now makes the exact same trailer. I was told North River has commercial contracts locked in for the next 4 years, so they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I would have no problem purchasing another boat from them.

Re: North River boats?
Clemens Marine in Gladstone OR now sells NR.
I really think you should get the 22' Seahawk and just keep it at my place.

Re: North River boats?
A lot of the North River dealers have their boats listed on Boattrader online. Looked the other day and there were about 3 pages of them. Used a 250 mile search range. Nik

Re: North River boats?
I have had a NR 18.5 Seahawk with 140 Suzuki and 8 Yamaha and have no
regrets. This is a great boat and would do it again in a minute. If you have any questions PM me.

Re: North River boats?
I have an 18 foot 2005 Seahawk with a 115 Yami tramsom mount and a T8, two batteries. The offshore mount was too long and wouldnt fit in my garage. With the swing away tongue and the transom mount, it fits just fine. I've had great luck with my boat. It's my 6th trailer boat. No complaints. Its getting a little beat up but since I used Sharkhide, the finish still looks pretty good, except for some random scratches.
Some jerk keyed the blue paint last summer at Ukee. I think it was some commercial clown that didnt like the CCA stickers on my boat. With some touch up paint, you have to look hard to see it.
Handles rough water well. I've had it offshore 5-10 miles, five trips to Ucluelet, in the Straight a lot and around Puget Sound. I have to be a little more selective on rough water days than larger boats but I've never not been able to fish. It didnt come with a splash board, but I installed one myself.

Re: North River boats?
I am not sure if the lenght would 2 or 3 feet shorter?? I have a 21 ft NR, and these were not available over 20 feet. I did see these when I was buying my boat, the hard part will be finding one...but possible. A 20 footer with the O/S bracket would be awesome.

Do you have the 20 F with the offshore bracket?
and how long is the rig with the trailer?
I found a 20F seahawk with a motor well (no offshore bracket). Just afraid that it will take water on if the water if rough.
WE have rough waters here in the bay area (or ocean)
Or am I wrong?
Just curious.

Re: North River boats?
Go with a 21' with offshore bracket. But it would take up a lot of driveway space.

I've got the 18.5' Seahawk with the Offshore and 115hp. No plans to sell it. It's been a great boat. I do have 2'-itis (and wishing it were a hard top and 150+hp), but am still a happy camper with my purchase. It's a lot of boat for the price I paid.
I heard the NR was still going to be making the Seahawk but in 20'+ sizes only. The offshore bracket is nice and to me, it seems like it's about 3' bigger boat than the splashwell version. It does make running the kicker a little more of challenge when it's mounted on the bracket though.

Re: North River boats?
Here is the overall space requirement for a Seahawk 18'.6" with offshore bracket, on trailer with a swing toungue.
I had to do all the calcs myself when I bought it. It fits in my Garage.
You will need a full 24'
-Tongue folded
-Large outboard slightly tilted sideways.
No problem fits straight on.
Trust me 23' will not work. I have a 3 car garage and 24' allows boat to go straight in, wife parks her SUV next to boat.
I wanted the biggest boat w/offshore and outboards that fit in 24'.
Love this model small but stable

Re: North River boats?
Knowing what I know now ,If I were in the market for an 18 foot boat I would definately get a 22 footer. And just make the driveway bigger.

Excellent point.
One other thing - the NR Seahawk 21' is a much roomier boat than the 20'.
Wider and 5" deeper.
I like them all though and even my 18.6 is enough for me. If I chose a NR 20' it would have to be a 21'. (Just my opinion).

It seems every time I've bought a boat a boat I've wished I would have stepped up and gone to the next size larger. You can never have enough fishing and people room.

I posted the build on the Wa BD site. it is kinda long and it took me about three months to complete and paint. It has a sliding back door. I added 290lbs with the windows included.
I sent you a PM with the link

Hey - Could I get that link ?, very interesting project.
My NR 18.6 is too small for the conversion, but I sure would enjoy seeing what you guys did.
Very nice results !!

It's called "TWO FOOT ITIS", we always what two more feet.
If your going to buy a Seahawk I would recommend against the 20', 21' + has .250" bottom and is wider. It is much more boat than just a foot longer. I have fished a 20' in the ocean several times and it seems small.
