Default Re: smelt still in the Lewis?

Dipped smelt this moring from the shore of the Lewis River. Up above the railroad bridge. Tons of Sealions fishing at the mouth, not so many up river where we dipped. The water is fairly cold from snow melt and we seemed to get all of ours 4-6' from shore. The first place we dipped yielded 3-4 per dip. We moved once and got perhaps 40-50 per dip for a three or four dips and then took off in search of ole' toothless (which we found near St. Helens).
