Default Water Temps?

So people are always stating water temps for the body of water they fished on any given way. Is there any source out there to get this other than taking the temp yourself? It would be nice to know before heading out on a fishing trip for the day.

I have been looking for that info to but I think people are reporting what their fishfinder says, I have been wanting to get up around Rufus and lower John Day and get the boat wet but worried about water temp, like to catch a fish not just go for a boat ride, I can do that here

Coast lakes last weekend were 47-49. I'm sure with this warmer weather they are holding above 50 now.

the columbia at cascade locks was 45/46 degrees on sunday the 15th.
an early season concern on the lower john day is turbidity.
my experience is that it's usually a tick or two cooler than the mainstem
columbia and quite dirty in the early season.
for the record, the willamette in wilsonville area is chocolate milk
and 47 degrees as of yesterday the 15th. it's coming down quickly though.

Yeah, I figured fishfinders were most people's source. My boat is not equipped with one so I wanted to know if there was a source online that reports the temps, but have had no luck finding one myself. Its just nice to know before heading out for the day.

There's alot of info here:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/or/nwis/cu...no_station_nm=

Hover over the celsius temperature to get the fahrenheit conversion.

Thanks. I had looked at this site but didn't see the temps. It doesn't list all the sites I would like but it gives me a rough idea of temps in the area.

Yeah Joe I took a look at the Willy today and it's still pretty murky.

As for temps.......click the Data/Marine link at the top of the IFish Header (look up) and follow the links.
I also google as well and sometimes find other sources.
