Default Sufix Fishing Line

I've seen this line in several catalogs, but have never heard much about it. I was at the Portland Sportsmans Show yesterday and ran across a Sufix booth. I spent about 15 minutes checking out their different lines.I was very impressed with it. It is smaller diameter than Maxima and P-Line and has a much greater breaking strength. I tied a knot in the line and could not break 12# test and I worked at it. How many of you have used this line and what do you think?

Thanks, Rich

There were a few lines at the show and other that were not that have the same knot strength, so I for one would not let that one thing impress you to much.

Fishalot,

They did some abrasion tests and I did a few of my own. It was very abrasion resistance. It was the combination of tensile strength , knot strength, and abrasion resistance that I liked.

Thanks, Rich

Spinnermaker,

The stuff I looked at was monofilament. But, I believe they make braided also.I didn't see any braided at the booth. You can check them out at www.sufix.com

Have not tried Sufix myself but can tell you that Sufix Tritanium tested about top in the Sport Fishing Mag line test. It easily beat Maxima Chameleon in both tensile strenth and abrasion rating and also soundly topped Trilene XT. The line is certainly worth a look.

Sufix Synergy Tritianium was the winner on abrasion test results but it is very hard and after using it on a levelwind reel it coils waaay to much and has to much memory for make me want to use it again.

If ya want a copy of the test results that was done I could fax it but I don't know how to scan and post.

Richtr, I bought some at the show and have it loaded on a reel, It has very little memory.By the way it isn't monofilament but cofilament. I won't be tring it out till Tuesday.

Thanks everyone for the replys!

fop,

If you would fax me the results that would be great. 360-425-5800. You said the line had too much memory. What # test were you using?

Fishen Fool,

You are correct, They call there "Superior" style all-purpose monofilament, but it is actually copolymer. Did you buy the D.N.A. type, Superior or Tritanium Plus. Let me know how it works after you get a chance to try it.

Thank, Rich
