Lucky Hats
I read on here the other day that someone was afraid to wear their I-fish hat because they could only catch fish wearing their "Lucky Hat". I can help . And , like all advice on this board ,it's "on the house". You see , I too once believed I could only catch fish if I wore a certain hat. Indeed , my "lucky hat". I found a way to get over it . Best part is , it's free (although drugs are optional) . Alls you have to do is say these simple words ..." it's not the hat...it's not the hat ...it's not the hat". Say this ten times sporadically throughout the day . Say it when you wake up , say it while in line at the store or at Starbucks , or while the tank fills . Over and over for several days . A heads up ...people will look at you funny ...as if to say "of course it's the hat" Ignore them or give them a funny look back. Within weeks you'll believe . Worked for me. Now I wear any hat I want ...pitching eggs ? wear the with egg goop already on it !! Trolling herring ..wear the one with scales all over it . You get get the picture. Wear your I-fish with confidence !! Wear the one you got for being on Allstars in Little League ...chicks go crazy over those !!! Hope this helps ...swampy , over and out .

Re: Lucky Hats
Wanna hear a funy story? Iit explains why Ii DO believe in lucky hats. I have a selection of hats I wear fishing. I usually grab one and go. Ii'm not religious about taking pictures of my catch, but funny thing happened a couuple years ago. A friend of mine was over loking at some pictures and gear I had laying around. Of the pictures I have (say 70-100) almost 90% I was wearing the same hat. So, last year I did a litle experiment. I had a couple hats with me. What I did, was once we anchored uup to fish, I'd have a friend put my cap on backwards so I couln't see the hat he was puutting on. Guess what happened??? I caught most of my fish with that lucky hat. I call iit Kharma.
So, who am I to chance fate?? LOL. I do catch fish with other hats on, but it's nice having tha security blanky (or shall I say hat) giving you thaat mental edge. Sure, I've ben skunked wearing it, buut it adds tha certaiin something knowing "old faiithful" ii on your head.

Re: Lucky Hats
My Lucky hat is a dirty old blue one that say's Shimano on the front. Can't seem to find it......maybe that's why I have lost so many fish this year. I smell a conspiracy among my fishing buddies......they got tired of me out fishing them......so they stole my hat.

Re: Lucky Hats
I do hope my new Green I-Fish hat become more lucky as time go on. So far it hasn't been lucky at all. I bought my new hat at the Sportsman show Thursday evening. Cost $12 bucks plus $218. for towing. Total cost for my new Green I-Fish hat = $230 not encluding gas. Plus I missed meeting Jen by one hour.
I'll get the hat on a river Monday

Whenever I get into a slump and am fishless for awhile(who me?) my daughter wants to sleep with the sweatshirt im going to wear the night before I go fishing to bring me luck. Talk about pressure, the first thing she wants to know when I get home is "HOW MANY?!!!" so far so good its worked.  One of these days my luck is going to run out But when she says I told you so it sure is great

Re: Lucky Hats
Green Oregon ducks hat it is always on my head when I am fishing. If I forget it at home the day is going to end up with no fish. But that is how a lot of my days go with my so called lucky hat.lol Well you can never get them all but I will die trying.

Re: Lucky Hats
Well for twenty-two fifty my new green ifish hat with Wiser? embroidered on the back better be lucky. First day out with it on my head was a three for three day. Two natives released and a small but fresh chrome bright hatchery hen went home with me. Gave me the chance to try out an egg cure I bought at the show. A liquid that you use 3/4oz per two skeins. So far so good. Not sure about the yellow thread color of embroidered name(my wife's choice of color)on the hat. Jenny, you weren't around when I bought the hat and you looked real busy when I passed by later in the evening, Friday. We'll meet someday.

Re: Lucky Hats
I tried on an ifish hat at the Sportsman Show, but like a lot of hats, it wasn't big enough. When you're rounding Windy Point when the east wind is blowing and you're at the oars, you don't want to have a hat on your head that isn't on solid. The only hat I've found that really fits tight is the Nestucca Valley Sporting Goods hat that Ron Byrd sells in Hebo. I told Jennie at the Sportsman Show that I bought a bunch of those hats for my fishing relatives at Christmas. Great Fishing Hats!
