I know a few people on here fish the umpqua early and do well. But for some reason they dont talk about it till way later in the year when the dink fishery is in full swing.
With very little snow melt for this year, it wont hurt to start fishing shallows soon.

That's because they don't want anybody catching all the big spawners. They want us to catch all the little dinkies later in the year...

Still a bit early from what I hear.... we have a guided trip to chase those pre-spawners planned for next weekend so I hope the conditions align and we are able to catch 'em.

If you plan on fishing the Umpqua now, you will only be looking for a few bites, but they should be from quality fish.
