Leathernek,
Welcome to this board.
You bet I have great memories of that hole, bet we fished together. Drove a dark brown 4wd Subaru Hatchback back then. Did you ever fish it back when Steve owned it. I used to love to fish chargers there on a 5/6 wt fly rod blank that I tied up as a ultra light spin rod. walk in in the dark and cast the chargers right at the downstream end of the big rock wall. Wham. I would take rookies and tell them to hang on as they were guranteed to get bit first cast. Usually they would miss the first fish, but would get the second or third bite. Crawdad tails when light. Best charger/daylignt bite was 6 fish in 8 casts. I had many 10 and 15 fish days on that river. Had some big fish take me down the rocks and even tried chasing one, got wet and spooled. Also fished the rock pit and down from there. Worst part was leaving the house at 2:30 AM and crossing the creek with tennies so early in the AM. Havent been back in many years, but some great memmories.
