Sage makes a nice switch rod. Beulah has nice switch rods as well, their small 6/7 weight spey is essentially a switch as well. If you aren't in a hurry check out the Spey Clave on the Sandy in April or May. They usually will have a lot set up to try out. I don't think you need a 8 weight. We have landed 30 plus pound kings on the Beulah 6/7 wt. without problems. They are great rods for nymphing for steelhead as well. Good luck.

I am a big fan of the Beulah switch rods and have also played wiht the Echo and TFO rods. All are reasonably priced and you'd have to cast to fit your wants/needs but I would reccomend. Sage switch are really nice but I didn't like the feel of the flex point.

You could also try and talk Meskel in to building you one like he did for me. It's my favorite rod period. 10'8" switch. Perfect

Yeah, that's what I said shortly before I bought the componants... I recently joined Anglers Anonymous. "Hi, I'm Nookslayer and I'm a fly rod-o-holic".
