I'm lookig to pick up a switch rod for steelhead. I think a 11' 7or 8 outta be about right. Anyone have any recomendations or possibly a rod like this they might want to part with?
JD
Sage makes a nice switch rod. Beulah has nice switch rods as well, their small 6/7 weight spey is essentially a switch as well. If you aren't in a hurry check out the Spey Clave on the Sandy in April or May. They usually will have a lot set up to try out. I don't think you need a 8 weight. We have landed 30 plus pound kings on the Beulah 6/7 wt. without problems. They are great rods for nymphing for steelhead as well. Good luck.

I am a big fan of the Beulah switch rods and have also played wiht the Echo and TFO rods. All are reasonably priced and you'd have to cast to fit your wants/needs but I would reccomend. Sage switch are really nice but I didn't like the feel of the flex point.

I have a 6 wt deer creek and my buddy has an 8 wt. Both are pretty nice. I can only immagine what the Meisers are like One day, when I'm all grown up, that's what I'll be fising with
Yeah, that's what I said shortly before I bought the componants... I recently joined Anglers Anonymous. "Hi, I'm Nookslayer and I'm a fly rod-o-holic".
