OFC(Oregon Fishing Club) doesn't buy land. They provide fishing for members in this way: by contacting or being contacted by land owners, who grant fishing/access rights. If the landowner is sick and tired of people trespassing and snagging and leaving garbage behind -limiting access is a real positive.Members I've met are very aware of the need to not only obey the ODFW laws but respect the landowners wishes.
OFC has a booth at the Sportsman Show or can be contacted at(541)967-8301.Membership is not expensive and has a varity of options such as lifetime,10yr, 5yr,3 yr, 2 yr memberships.
The club has access to still waters which it stocks with a varity of species including large trout. It also has access on sites on rivers(Clack, Eagle Cr,Sandy, Nestucca ,Little Nestucca,Molalla,North Santiam, Trask , and Wilson).
The diversity in fishing waters really works out nicely as the stillwaters may not produce that well in the winter, but the streams sure do!
Please check it out for yourself, the club is full of friendly folks!

I've never paid to hunt, fish, or **** in my life and as long as there's public access and willing women, I don't plan to.

Normally they don't buy the land, they lease it. And usally the land is already posted. (you couldn't have fished it anyway - before they leased it)
I believe that the upper Eagle Creek propery was closed because of all the litter problem.
If they get a stream re-opened up to fish for members, they're actually making the river less crouded for the rest of us.

They're not the enemy

Fishbane, The Oregon Fishing club does not own a single piece of property. What they have is leases with private property owners to allow access to certain rivers. Each lease varies in terms of compensation, access, cleanup and other issues related to the use of the land. Most property owner approach OFC because of vandalism problems, litter, trespassing and destruction of property to mention a few of the problems private landowners have. The club is very respectful of the property owners land and in many cases will improve the property via work parties who are actually members who donate their time.

I could go on but check out their website, www.ofc.org and/or give Bruce Harpole a call, sorry don't have his number handy but it is on the website.

If you would be interested I would be more than happy to take you to one of the sites, Eagle creek is looking good

Hope this helps clear up some misunderstanding.

The OFC booth is in the same aisle as Fisherman's Marine. Bruce or Brian will be there all weekend, and would happily talk to anyone about the Club. We are not, contrary to some opinions, a group of rich elitistist snob ******'s. The Club and all it has to offer can easily be afforded by the average working guy (a source of many members). But don't take my word for it come check us out for yourself.

The criticism I most often hear about the Oregon Fishing Club is that they have the money to buy good fishing. This from some fisherman who own $20,000 sleds or $5,000 drift boats.

An Oregon Fishing Club membership is, if I remember right, about $500.00 to join and $25 a month. That means 15 years of membership for a drift boat and 65 YEARS for a Sled. Now, whose spending too much money to fish. (Having said that, I still want a drift boat). Good fishing, drifter.
