Default Columbia River Springers

Anyone know if the Columbia River (Sauvie's Island or Prescott beach area) is open for Spring Chinook? I'd like to go plunk for a couple of hours and want to avoid the Meldrum Bar crowds.

Prescott beach is just downriver of the Trojan plant at about river mile 72 and across from the top of Cottonwood Island...I think.

There's a park and good beach access. No secret given away here, it's a popular bank access location.

Yup- Just past Trojan nuclear power plant on Highway 30, turn right onto Graham Road. There is a sign marked "Precott Beach". Follow the signs to the beach.

It's was a trout in the pond adjacent to Trojan that had 3 eyes. The reason fishing at Prescott is so popular is because the scales fall off the fish once they pass by the reactor. I understand that a Eugene based fishing group has taken to offering these fish marijuana in an effort to ease the effects of radiation sickness and bring their appetites back.

Spot,

Don't forget your parking permit if you visit the ODFW beaches on Sauvies Island. Still $10, sold various places including the market just over the bridge on the island
