Talking Newbie intro

Hey,
My name is Sarah and I'm 28 years old. I'm interested in learning how to fly fish and was wondering if anyone knows of any great beginner classes in the Portland/Vancouver area?

Also, I'm a veteran and I know there have been veteran only fly fishing classes and I'm curious if anyone here has ever gone to them?

Thanks,
Sarah

All of the local fly shops have casting instructors you can take a few lessons from. Sometimes the folks on this forum get together and one previous thread mentioned just that, if it hasn't already happened. I don't know anything about the veteran classes, so can't help you there.

Check local community college. Or Parks & Rec?

The Clark-Skamania Flyfishers are a fly fishing club in Vancouver, Wa and they do several clinics and classes a year.

Great group of folks.

Check out the link to River City Fly Shop. Great folks. They offer lessons. Will teach you what you need to know and won't sell you stuff you don't need.

I see you are in Vancouver. Check out the Greased Line. It's on 88th between St Johns and Andresen Rd.
