Ive been looking into getting a basic fishing boat, something I can troll for walleyes and anchor on the columbia for salmon and sturgeon, and Do a little duck hunting out of. but mostly take my 4 year old out on during the summer. A new one in marsh grass paint with a merc 25 4 stroke,Trailor and anchor system will run me 9500.00 new. anybody fishing out of one of these. Thoughts?

That setup is the standard boat used through out Alaska both in the interior and from Ketchikan to Barrow along the coast. And yes lots of 4 year olds have grown up on these boats... I am one of them. Kids use these things instead of cars.

For a penny more you can get the 18' but you will want a bigger motor, and I am willing to bet you want the Merc 25 flyway edition motor that has the matching cammo as the boat. They make the flyway in a 60' but the price will increase a lot.

I also know that you can get used lund packages (that are in like new condition) for $3-5K.

I own a 16' lund with a 40 hp evinrude etec with tons of extras for 5500 let me know if your interested Jim
