Default Bankie Report Day 3 (pic)

hit the water at odark thirty out of longview.
what looked to be another opportunity for a stellar day and a possble springer turned out to be one of those days when all goes wrong!!

First cast required a cut out and respool
second rod went in foul..so after the retrieve and retying leaders etc I finally get the 2 rods out around 8 a.m. :depressed:

No fish today..did have a drive by on the K-14 but it didn't stick.. 3 Seals were working the area really hard just 20 yards out

the only thing worth taking a pic was this little bugger out for a swim.

Dan, even the most successful have BAD days.
Sorry to hear yours was today. I managed to launch after catching up on some sleep at about 10. Had to run the new outboard for some more break in time and what a nice day it was. The water was just like your picture, flat and the warm temps didn't hurt either. Tried a kwikie, spinner and custom thin twin with prawn and nada. Did see what you did though, lots of seals and sealions working, nut too many gulls though. I just don't think the smelt are trying to work their way up here yet.

Well, today was my first day out Springer fishing (I'm a bankie). Hit the mighty Columbia for the outgoing tide. Still looking for that first Springer - ever! Fished well today - about 40 rods where I was at. Saw the bank go 2 for 3 on Springers - both landed were keepers and big  . Also saw 4 steelhead landed - only one keeper. The others high finners.

Smaller spin 'n glo's seemed to be the ticket (#4's) - with red on the top - though the crackered Springer was on a white tiger. Those with the mojo are getting them. My quest continues .....

Great day today. A bit of a breeze, but sunny and warm at times. Love to see the bald eagles.
