Heading to LBC for the weekend. Was invited on a late notice. Friends already left. Dont have a clue on tackle, rods or anything. Any help would be helpful?

Perry South is open...one would hope the crowds haven't hit it yet.

There are already people starting to show up for this weekend at Perry. If it is anything like last weekend there will be people jam packed everywhere up here. On a side note for you guys coming up, the Metolius Arm from Perry down to the dam is fairly murky from a lot of runoff. From Perry up to the cabins is nice water still, and the Cooked and Deschutes arms are crystal clear. There is a clearly defined line at the mouth of Perry. The murky water seems to be making for slower than normal bull trout fishing (visiblity 1-2 feet) but still great fishing for the Kokanee.

Was out there today. Started near the island and marked alot of fish but didn't get any love. Moved up just below perry and found some biters. Bulls we targeted were deep. 85'+. Nothing big to the boat just 7 smaller bulls. Did have one that I had on and felt some big head shakes and then nothing. Reeled in the gear and it had broken my leader. Also ran one rod for Kokes and had pretty steady action on a pink hootchie and sling blade down 30-40'. Used the shuttle hawk for the first time and was very impressed with its performance. Also ran one rod with the slide diver lite bite. . . . jury is still out. It will take some time to learn the ropes with that particular rig. Beautiful sunny day out there. Water pump broke on the trolling motor so it will be a week or so before we can get back out. Still looking for that monster bull.

Just an observation but several of the kokanee had the parasite worm things on the skin. I was under the impression that those developed in the warmer water but the temp was 46*. I was surprised to see them on the fish this early
