anyone fishing prineville or ochocco?

just wondering if anyone has been out on these lakes fishing yet. last spring made a few trips to both and had great success on large rainbows. 14-21" consistanly.anyone???

I heard that they werent stocking prineville anymore?? has anyone else heard this?....your right though....huge rainbows on the ones left in there.

What I understand is it has been determined that Ochoco is a self sustaining fishery and hasn't been stocked in a few years. All these nice trout are hold overs and spawned.At least that's the local story and the county did not want to spend money on stocking Ochoco any longer.

According to the ODFW's website no legal sized trout stocked in Prineville or Ochocco in 09. I think they only stock fingerlings.

I fished it last Sunday. Trolled prineville, up the bearcreek arm and out. Then down to dinasour rock and the back side of the big island. nothing and nothing. but hey...its still real early. I did see one guy pick up a small one maybe 11"" or so trolling. so they are there. I did mark quite a few fish on the finder.
