Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
Don't want to start any rumors....but I keep hearing a rumor that Bass Pro might be coming to Bend. Has anyone else heard this or have any definite info on it?

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
A Cabelas 3 hours north of Portland, why not put a Bass Pro 3+ hours south of Portland.... makes perfect sense

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
Here is the answer I got from Bass Pro on Facebook.
"We are constantly looking for new locations and until it is official this location is just one of the many options we are looking at. Short answer . . . Not at this time."

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
I went to a bass pro shop in Oklahoma City and wasn't really that impressed. Most items were overpriced and available on line if it were a hard to find item.

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
There was a sorta Bass Pro Shop in Bend at one time. I was in the marina going south out of town on the right. Not a marina any more. They used to carry a bunch nof stuff from Bass Pro Shop there.

The boat/tackle shop was Moonlight Marine, and had a great tackle dept. They stocked stuff that worked and that people wanted. Too bad the big box stores don't give their department managers more freedom to listen to the customers and stock what folks want.

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
I heard rumors that the Tracker dealer in Redmond now has some BPS stuff in their store but I never really checked so I cant say for sure one way or another.

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
That's a good one 21, unless you are about to send an 18 yo daughter to U of O, in which case it causes some concern! I sure miss Joes, which always had 80% of my needs-- and near home. The store formerly known as Sportsmans aint bad, but it's no Cabelas or BPS.

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
I've heard rumors that Cabalas is coming to Tangent for years. I don't think there is anywhere near the population to support one. That is allot of overhead for that size building and that many employees.

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
Ok. I am going to tell what i know. I dont know 100% But i will give it a 90% for probablity of truth because i was not there.
A buddy of mine is opening a business soon and has been looking for a location. While in this search early this week his Business partner talked to a Consultant that deals with tenants for a large Building on I-5. During there conversation the consultant said they just signed Cabelas to a location on monday.
I wouldnt normally even say something like this. But the Source i got it from is VERY Credible. I hope its true. If not, im sorry your time was wasted on this read.
Thats all i know.

And that location on I-5 is where?
If this is true, I am going to be getting a lot less work done!

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
Looks like property values along I-5 have just gone up. Anyone know of a house for sale close to Cabela's with a boat ramp nearby?

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
Unfortunately I am not a big fan of Cabelas for bass gear. Been in two of them and they were a disappointment compared to the five Bass Pros I have been in......for bass gear. They are great for hunting, camping and silver carp fishing gear. just my .

Re: Bass Pro Shops in Oregon???
What needs to happen is, BPS needs to branch off and spread a few mini locations. Call it "BPS Express". This way they can afford to drop a few shops up and down I-5 for all of us BPS Junkies. This would be great!!. I may even call up BPS and ask them myself. I would be more that happy to purchase the franchise and open a couple. What do you think???

I lived in Springfield, MO for quite a few years and have never really understood why they dont do this.
You have my full support.
