clackamas springers?

I just want to know when the spring run chinook start up the clack in fishable numbers. I start fishing it in april around the 15th. Some one has landed one on the clack all ready I would think a stray from the willamette. My father landed a 30# the 7th of april 2 years ago.

Generally speaking the Clack does get an early blast of Springers about this time every year. They are not in great #'s yet but this is not unusual for one this early in the season. The best time for the largest # of fish is around the first part of April thru Mid-May. Depending on the snow pack, it could last into Mid-June, this year may be one of those years!!!

Thanks I plan on fishing it alot this year and start early maybe late march. Theres going to be alot of people in the other rivers at that time.

Last year, I tagged my first springer on april 9th. out of Barbs hole (bobber fishing).
