Default Help with Goodwin Lake

I am going to be up at Goodwin Lake in Stanwood WA, mid march with my wifes family and I am curious if the fishingh is any good. I know that they stock it during the summer. I will not be taking my boat, so I will have to fish off the shore. Any help/advice would be appreciated. I am planning on taking my nephew with me so he can get some fishing since his family does not fish.
Thanks

Default Re: Help with Goodwin Lake

Thought someone else might answer with better info, but here's my limited knowledge. I only fished Goodwin a couple of times, both from the bank. Bank access is very limited...lake is pretty much surrounded by houses. I accessed at Wenburg Park. It was a State Park, but there was talk of Snohomish County taking it over. Don't know the final result of that.

I caught a few 'bows. Fished later in the year so they were spooky from the jet ski traffic. Finally had some luck with PowerBait off the bottom on a loose slip sinker. With the line resting on my finger would get just the very slightest tap-tap from a nibble. Mid March before the onslaught of jet skis they might be a little bolder.

If you are just looking to take the nephew you could try Twin Lakes nearby. Just off I-5. Two Ponds and the north pond is strictly for kids. They stock 'em pretty good.

PM me if I can help you any more.
