By any chance was the 25.5# Steelhead you saw caught on the Clackamas "years ago" caught by Bob Matson? If so, I was in his sled that day and it was NOT a Steelhead, it was a RAINBOW TROUT and had never been to sea. This was verified by the head fish biologist with the Oregon Fish and Game Department (That was the name then). Yes, I was as surprised as you!! The official letter still exists.
Also, the specs don't seem to add up! My personal friend and fishing pal caught a 30# Steelhead on the Wilson in 1982, (officially measured) and it was 44" long.
