Default Columbia set-up

My Dad's got a 17 foot fiberglass Blue Water with an open bow. I'm wondering cost-wise, safey-wise what it would take to set this boat up to fish the Columbia for sturgeon, springers. From what I've heard, we would need at least 300 feet of rope, a good sized river anchor( 30lb?, 40lb?), about 20 feet of chain, a couple of buoys, and some kind of winch mechanism. Anybody with a similar boat, input would be most appreciated.

Go get Eazy-Marine anchor kit. Louis will be at the Sportsman Show and will supply what you need. I have a 25 lb. anchor and six foot of chain and the only place I can't hold is where I shouldn't be..... 100ft of water, 10mph of current. Oh! I use a 17ft. glass fish-n-ski in the big water. See Louis he is a great guy.
