Cool Ok so i have an idea!!!!!!

So I have an idea. With all the talk of 8,9, and even 11 pound bass even 400 fish days maybe we could have a contest. Braggin rights only so no money involved. What I came up with is biggest five fish over the whole season. Maybe split the year into 3 sections to avoid someone just getting lucky during the spawn. Catch should be made up of no more than three of one particular species.(Smallies/largies) culling is allowed. Anyone could enter as long as they are caught in either wa. or oregon and the reason for this is we all know indymusky would destroy us all with all his monster bass. Nothing more than a pic of the fish ALIVE with angler would be required. If you don't have a scale buy a cheap measuring tape to get measurments. No guesstimations. What do you guys think. Any suggestions???? If this sounds completely stupid bare with me I've been sick the last few days and may be dilerious.

get better soon! You have a "braggin rights" stat board to start working on. I'll play. We all basically do that, just not as organized as you suggest. But yeah, sounds like fun.

Sounds good to me, I just bought a new camera to reside in my pontoon boat, so I will make sure to have pics this year...

Sounds good. How about limiting it to 3 largies (plus 2 smallies) or up to 5 smallies? Or having separate braggin' rights for largies and smallies?

That sounds good to me as long as everyone else is good with it. I fish for smallies 98% of the time so if largies are mandatory i may have to enter a couple rats. Or I'll be forced to chase largies a little more.

What do you guys think about splitting the year up? One con to this is if someone new wants to enter after a certian date they may miss out on being able to enter a whole limit.

Also when should we end it? I pretty much stop fishing for bass once hunting season starts but some guys fish and catch all the way into november.

I was mainly trying to come up with a way to become more active on the b&p board besides just a comment here and there. I usually dont post reports or pics because it feels like I'm blowing my own horn and thats so not me. Although I dont look at others posts that way. I dont know maybe I have a mental block or something......

Anyone else have any suggestions???

I vote for ALL year long, ANY black bass from Oregon and washington, Best 5 fish. Weight would be nice, but this formula works real well if you get length and girth measurements: {(L x L) x G} / 1200

All year long would be good because Them big bass can reach the same weight in the fall as they do when their full of eggs.

I like the the idea of seperating the smallies from the largies. So to be clear...there will be bag limits of 5 fish(5 for smallies, 5 for largies). Must have pics and measurements. All year long. OF course we must have the good old "big fish" bragging rights category for both smallies and largies. So at the end of the year some lucky angler may win in 4 categories categories...biggest bag smallies, biggest bag largies, and biggest fish for both. Maybe thats too much.....

I think a how to measure so we're all doing the same thing is necessary, especially for noobies when it comes to measuring fish.

We have all year to sort things out so each of those categories isn't too tough to keep track of I think.
