Smelt Report 2/2/02

Started near the two Longview/Kelso bridges. Two smelt in about 20 minutes. Headed up river and stopped at Carnival Market. Lots of people but didn't see many smelt. Continued up to Riverside Park in Lexington. I stayed at the lower end of the park and dipped my limit in about 20-25 minutes. The smelt seemed to be right against the bank. :smile:

Thanks for the update.
I still have 50lbs. vacpac in the freezer, but wouldn't mind having some fresh.

Thanks for the report from Longview, Two! I was hoping to get a few fresh smelt for the pan and a toothless keeper. It sounds like a bit of labor is necessary, but worth the trip. No smelt in the Sandy yet.

And if you are taking Hiway 30 to get to the Cowlitz, you are more than welcome to stop by and borrow my smelt net. Don't buy one or rent one, just e-mail me and I'll make sure the net is out for you. It's not a great net, but it will most assuredly get the job done for you !
