I just put one of the Garmin 240 models in my boat two weeks ago. No complaints. Works well. The gps unit is good quality also.

Just got the 160 Blue saltwater version for Christmas and am Very Happy! Excellent power and resolution for finding bait-balls and other targets. Good for shallow water/fresh water applications as well.

My wife did some serious comparison shopping and found and excellent unit for mch $$$$ less than the more famous brands.

Garmin is making some really fine products. I have the GPS III hand-held unit that is a gem.

My opinion is you cannot go wrong with anything Garmin makes!!!

I have a 5 year old handheld Garmin gps unit that has worked great. Garmin also makes aviation products and been around for a long time. They also support the products they make, check out their website.
