Default Rufus Woods

Has anyone fished Rufus Woods lately? I have a buddy that is bugging me to head up there and fish for some of those triploid trout but I am more interested in the Kokanee fishing. Anyway somebody out there has to have a report...

i have read some reports recently that sounded good. people are catching them. I went this time last year, and we did pretty well, all from the bank. The guys in the boats absolutely killed em. 4 of us caught out limit of 2 each in about 2 hrs. We also caught and released a few smaller fish, in the 16 - 20 inch range. All of our keepers were between 4 and 6 pounds with one at just over 10. Im not much of a bait dunker for trout, but from the bank, that is pretty much how most people catch them. Out in the boats, the do alot of trolling and back bouncing, which sounds like alot more fun to me.

I fished up there 3 days last week. We launched below Elmer and fished around the upper net pen's. 3 rods with 6 fish in 3 days. Biggest was 14lbs. Definately not red hot. We heard they were catching a lot of small fish down by Cheif Joseph Dam but don't know for sure. We heard they were doing pretty good above Grand Coule Dam trout fishing out of Spring Canyon. I'll concentrate on Springers from here on out.

I am thinking that I will be hitting the Springers as well. Long drive to Rufus Woods; two fish maybe; hotel for the night, another two fish maybe, long drive. Columbia, short drive, two sweet Springers maybe; guess that is a no brainer. Thanks for setting me straight!
