Thill Premium Steelhead Floats!!!!
They're in now at Great American Tackle! Gary got them in today and I picked up 10 of them this afternoon. If you run jigs under floats and want to be able to adjust the depth at random or remove the float without retying, these are the ticket. Those guys at Thill nailed it on the head this time.

Re: Thill Premium Steelhead Floats!!!!
If you're using the Thill Steelheaders, I recommend one modification. Order an extra piece of the size of tubing that will slide on the top of the float. Now, use a piece of tubing on the bottom AND the top of the float and nix using the little notch in the stem, which puts a nasty kink in your line. This also makes it easier to mend your line with it coming off the top of the float rather than the bottom.
These are great floats for both jigs and bait. Not as good as the Turbomaster, but more reasonably priced.

Where is Great American Tackle, and how do these Thill floats compare with the round cork floats?

It's behind the big adult vidio store. It's a great location, after you get your fishing supplies you can visit a jack shack.

Re: Thill Premium Steelhead Floats!!!!
The modification that Dan S mentioned is a good idea. The rubber tubing that you want to use is 1/4" and is available by the foot.
omnivore
The Thill floats are more versitile since you can easily remove them from your line without re-tying. The round cork floats work great also. The corks have the advantage of a more natural looking float, especially when you are fishing low, clear water. My one dislike for the Thill Premium Steelheader floats is when you retrieve your line at the end of the drift, the Thill float dips under water and I think the bright red top can spook fish that might follow your jig/bait on the swing towards shore.

Re: Thill Premium Steelhead Floats!!!!
I was there yesterday buying some of the new Thill bobbers, and I'm sure Gary has the cork floats. I tried the new floats out today on the Clack, and they work great. No Fish today though, but maybe tomorrow after work I'll head up to Eagle Creek, and see how they work in the gin clear waters, I'll post my results here.

3/16" tubing works as well.
Do not. I repeat. Do not wrap your line around the notch at the bottom. Rig it up like DanS mentioned above or otherwise you're asking for trouble if you wrap your line.
