Looking to fish the Santiam this weekend. Has anyone recieved reports?

The North Santiam River Guides will be on the river on saturday ...Greens Bridge to Beuna Vista...so except alot of drift boats on sat ...Now if T-Jet means Thunder Jet then be sure and always wear your life jacket and carry a cell phone !! Just kidding man ...welcome aboard...I'm from Salem and will be fishing big time for springers in the Salem area come April...may see you arond . All the best, Swampy.

Should you get the hankering to teach a newbie how to get those springers near Salem, holler at me. I've got a small sled and a strong desire to use it.

Hey , T-Jet ...Fact is I don't know much about Thunder Jets ...but I have seen two stranded on T-Bay in one weekend which gave me a bad impession...I fish out a homemade aluminum driftboat that won't win any beauty contests ..that's Little Swampy, and my other boat is a North River (Big Swampy or Power Swampy) I sure do like the looks of Thunder Jets and hope that that wasn't you being pulled in on the bay . Again , welcome aboard and I will be looking for your posts . With Big Swampy , for steelies, I like to put in at Beuna Vista and scoot up to The Santiam . Springers right here in Salem .Spinners in 4-7 feet of water near shore. All the best , T-Jet .

Thanks for the info Swampy! I run a Green T-Jet with a Black and White Springer pointing the way! I think I have seen you on the river. I put in at the rest area on I-5. I used to go to Buena Vista until someone borrowed my back up battery on my trailer. I am planning on hitting the river tommorrow. Hope to see ya out there.

T-Jet: I may have seen you there. You were always putting in when my nephew and I got there. Do you have 2 dogs that sometimes go, as well as the wife? We usually head downriver from the ramp towards the trestle. He's got an 18' Whitewater outboard pump.

Hello Allthumbz and Salmonator. Yes, I usually go with a Choc. Lab and my Springer. The Girlfriend goes also. I would like to talk to you guys when ya get a chance. Trade some secrets! Want to know why I dont see you folks up upriver? Springers are on the way and want to share some tips!
