Yes, you have the same take on this fishing stuff as I do. I'm glad there are people like you out there giving tips. I'm not so good on the how to but can at least give regular info on how well people are doing in a general area of the river I fish. It may bring a few more people out but there is still plenty of river out there.Yesterday I saw an older gentleman catch his first steelhead ever. Using a Mitchell 300, wire guide 7 foot rod with a jig under a red and white plastic panfish bobber. It was a small bright native he had to release but you could just feel the excitement from him.
I'll certainly give this tip of yours a try.Looks killer.

I think the zoning up there requires a 50 foot port/starboard setback and a 1000 yard stern setback . I think they call it "Assaultor Zoning".

Good thread, nice graphic. During springer
season, get out your digital cam and post a
pic of your killer setup. Thanks Rick.

Thanks ******,
Appreciate you sharing this with us. I think I got it figured out, but I agree with Neutron, if you ever get a chance to take a picture of it, please post it so we can see if we got it right.

Thanks again,

Hey , that's MY OC Springer Rig ...don't know why it is so effective there but I was 0-6 trips there years ago before putting the binocs on a guide that always did real well and he was using a similiar rig ....pink has traditionally worked best for me at OC but last year orange seemed to get more take-downs ...your favorite colors ?? Oh , and thanks, as always,******, for your helpful posts . Swampy

Hey thanks ******,
I want to use this set-up this spring trolling the lower Sandy, it looks killer. I had a couple questions/clarifications though:

* From your little graphic it shows the prawn with its head facing upstream but from your desciption it sounds like it's attached with the head facing downstream, could you clarify?

* Also, you describe the 3/0 hook to be tied on to match the size of the prawn your using, could you tie it on so it slides thus being adjustable to any size prawn?

Thanks,
JK

******,
I was turned on to this set-up a few years ago and I agree it is a killer rig for Springers. Works well under the Sellwood also. I had my best success last year using green beads. I think that small tackle shop to the right of Fishermens OC (BC Tackle?) has all the gear to make these spinners.

My best luck has been when using pink prawns , green beads/corkeys and a blade thats hammered gold inside and lime green outside ...just my $ .02 , which ain't worth half that most days ...
