Re: Upgrade
Really? That slow? Mine isn't that slow.
Everyone tell me if you think it is much slower, k? Bob's board is getting comments of slower too. Not good!

Re: Upgrade
I'm connected via a DSL and there is a definate slow down but not as slow as other boards.
I'm curious, does this software support direct chats with others. In other words, if you see someone else on line can you contact them directly and be able to chat in another area?

Re: Upgrade
OK, here is the deal. I'll give it 24 hours to recache... If it doesn't speed up, sorry, but the online feature goes.
Speed to me, is what is most important.
Opinions?

Re: Upgrade
My opinion is go with Speed over fluff. The online features are nice, but I like responsiveness more.

Re: Upgrade
speed baby all the way...>>>>>>
DSL here and it does seem like the stone age with 56K. Actually it is nice to know who is on but it really does not matter to me.

Re: Upgrade
I am waiting for an answer to the speed issue.
I really do think it's a cache thing. It needs to rebuild after every update.

Re: Upgrade
Dear Jennie-
Yes, part of it is the cache.
Recent Visitors also can cause some slowness since it refreshes every 5
minutes or so to make sure the list is accurate.
I would give it time to rebuild the cache (24 hours should be more than
sufficient), then take it from there. You have a large board so its not
uncommon to see some initial slowness after upgrading.
Sincerely,
Kristi Miller

I like all names up on top of all the people online. I am running slower, but I hope we can keep it, and it picks up speed.

Re: Upgrade
No, but you could always tell them to go to chat and meet you.
That would be a neato feature.
I'll suggest it to the infopop team!

Re: Upgrade
It's kind of neat to see who else is online and wasting time. I didn't notice any speed differance, but mine is always slow with a dial-up.

Re: Upgrade
Jen-
I started witth a post to lest you know my download time on my dsl at work is about 40 to 50 % slower. I also was wondering if the download time will be slower each time I empty the cache. But I found a new Greamlin problem. It is either with the sad face the heart or the confused frowning face. Sorry. I got the hml error thing.

Have a sniff around!
You can go to my profile and change a bunch of stuff.
You can hide from the online thing if you like.
It will take a couple days of slow connect for the cache to rebuild, but once it does, it should be fast again.
If it is not, I will disable the online function.
Have fun!
Jen
