The hot spot has been the blacktop parking lot where the Clackamas River empties into the Willamette. The guys there have been catching a few Springers and alot of Steelhead, but are keeping it secret. Meldrum Bar and the Bulkhead (one a day beach) have been slow for some reason. I have personally gone down to the Blacktop and have seen the fish before they disappear into the coolers. SPRINGERS ARE HERE!!!

In my opinion there very well could have been a few springers caught, but in my 22 years of springer fishing I've never seen it "hot" in January. This is either hype or an over excited newbie.

I saw the same thing in the Oregonian today in the sports section. But it said it was unconfirmed.

I just got off the phone with Fisherman's at OC and was told that nobody has weighed in a springer yet. They did say that they have been hearing the same rumors though.
