First boat down the North Fork without getting out!
I have always just loved this picture!

Every time I go to Jim Erickson's house, I beg him to scan it and send it in.
Isn't it awesome? Great wallpaper.
The river doesn't look like this anymore, but is still challenging!
Jim tells me he is selling the reprints for 250.00
He says, Before clicking on the picture, send your money to:
Jim Erickson
Nehalem, Oregon.

Re: First boat down the North Fork without getting out!
The north fork can still be challenging in low water or after it drops from high water, trees falling across and such, add for extra fun. I still thank Jim for showing me the way down about 16 years ago. the river was more difficult then for sure.

A great picture. A great fisherman. I have had the pleasure to listen to Jim at the North Coast Rendezvous telling stories about the way it was and the way it is, now. I felt like the pupil before the great master. Thanks for sharing.

Jennie ,what year was the picture taken? Didnt recognize Jim at all. Also it looks like a can of coke on the bow, that didn't spill either.

Yeah, for a lot of people, it is a dream.
For Jim, he just gets in there and gets it done.

Re: First boat down the North Fork without getting out!
When I first started fishing the north fork I would put in at Jims house and fish the lower river. light on experience but determined. He would drift along side look over and say why are you fishing here, your sitting on top of the fish.then a pointer or two would come my way and off he would go.I can honestly say with out his help I could not have enjoyed the success I have.thanks Jim

Re: First boat down the North Fork without getting out!
Wow great picture.
I always knew that Jim only had one oar in the water. Seriously, just like Big Guy, Jim helped me out many years ago with some sage advice, and I always enjoyed talking to him as I was launching in his backyard.

I know that the big rock is now "missing" . Something about a cast and BLAST trip...... Funny how big rocks can become small rocks if someone puts their mind to it..
