Default Shimano Compre?

Looking to purchase a Shimano Compre. The CPS70ML2B to be exact. Looking to spend around 100.00 for a decent medium light trout rod. Will be paired with a stradic 1000 FI. Anyone have the new compre? Any suggestion for a 100.00 rod? Thanks.

I have a few I use for bass, but not trout. I love my bass rods...kinda like a cheaper Crucial. =)

I have 8 Shimano Compre Rods

The 7'0 Med/Light with a fast tip is a decent rod, but a bit too fast in the tip in my opinion. I like it for float fishing for trout in streams because the faster tip helps me mend and helps me move lots of line. It serves well for plunking, but I use a bit more slack in the line due to the fast tip. Its a great jigging rod, even though its kinda long. This rod has the cut-out fore-end and allows you to have contact with the blank when jigging.

For trolling, the tip is a bit too fast as well. There are rods in the compre line that have medium fast tips that I think would be better overall for trout fishing. I have the Clarus 7'0 Ultra-Light and I really like it for plunking. The tip is a bit softer and the rod is a bit cheaper.

My 7'0 Med/Light spends most of its time as a drop-shot or shakey head rod for bass in areas that don't have lots of cover.
