Default Request for Guide's - Charitable Contribution

A simple request really. And not one I make without understanding just how much work and generosity I'm asking for...

My wife teaches at a small private school in Newberg, Open Bible Christian School. They provide an alternative to public schools that still believes it's ok to say a prayer, to pledge alligence to our flag and if you get too out of hand, you might just get a swat on the rear from the principal.

But... they are chronically underfunded. As such they hold an annual charity auction. To get to the point, if any guides would be willing to donate a day trip, a half day, an outing... Place whatever resrictions on it you deem appropriate for your business, they will gratefully provide you with the IRS form filled out for the amount you deem to be the fair value of your donation. To make it perfectly clear, any donation is fully tax deductible as a charitable contribution. And it will benefit a good little school.

Contact me directly via email if you're interested in helping out or just to talk it over further.

I thank you in advance for considering it, regardless of what you decide!

Rob

Cosmosis-
It may be diffrent in Or. however in Wash. i don't belive you have to have a guide lic. to donate a trip. I've bought two trips on a slient auction where the money went to a char. and both times the guys weren't guides just a couple of guys who wanted to help out. on both trips they donated everything and i bought lunch. as far as the tax deduc. thats over my head .

My understanding is that if you want to deduct the value of the trip as a charitable contribution you have to be a licensed guide. HOWEVER!!

If anyone wants to donate a fishing trip without needing a deduction form, well heck, that would be super too!
