Default Bank Fishing?

I have my slide weight and hook with my worms or eggs or powerbait. My question is what else should I be doing or throwing for trout. I know it is usually water dependant, but need some ideas so I can fill up my tackle box for the new year. I would love to try out some new gear.

try a bobber with an adjustable bobber stop. with this you can attach any number of jigs - bait - spoons. by adjusting bobber stop the depth can be changed and allows for more area to be covered.

Small PINK powerworms were deadly last yr. Cut them into 1in pieces and keep threading the same piece on till you cant now more.

Take a look at the advertisement at the top of this forum... the Yakima (Worden's) Rooster Tail is a great casting lure for trout. I have one box dedicated to them, but I keep going back to black body with a silver blade. I've done well with the 1/8 oz. lure, but I recommend experimenting, and putting a split shot above a swivel can help get you out there and get down on the retrieve for the lighter bodies. Overall, my go-to lure for casing from shore.

I've been really impressed with Berkley Gulp! Eggs. I use the eggs because they are more durable. My favorite colors are Chartreuse and Pink. I use 2 eggs on a size 8 red Gamakatsu single egg hook. I use 4lb fluorocarbon leader and 4 or 6lb main line. Usually Maxima Ultra-Green or Berkley Sensation.

I also keep size 6 or 8 Gamakatsu bait holder hooks for using worms or perrywinkles. I always make sure to put a bead between my slip sinker and swivel. It keeps the swivel from getting stuck in the sinker.

I carry two different types of floats. For throwing a float and fly, I use a "torpedo bobber". These are cone shaped and have a rubber tube that you twist to tighten on your line. You can add water for distance. I also keep some balsa slip bobbers for using bait. Keep lots of small split shot to adjust how the float works for you.

I also keep lots of 1/16 or 1/8 oz spinners. Rooster Tails and Mepps are my favorite. I prefer silver blades with white hair or silver blades with black hair. With the Mepps, I like the size 1 in silver.

I usually keep an assortment of spoons and spinners... Rvrfshr spinners, some blue fox, and some mepps. Spoons are lil cleos... For bobber fishing... I just use my steelhead floats... I use 1/2 WCF.. Walmart has Danielsons which I would recommend super gluing the stem so it stays in... Definitely have options when you some WCF or danielsons when it comes to trout fishing. And I also keep some steelhead stalkers micro jigs in my bag.

I would try a hare's ear, chironomid, or pheasant tail to this selection too. When fish are actively feeding, this can be a deadly method.
