Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
18 fish were caught, 4 in the tank. Team Carrot Milk's Bobby took first place with the largest fish. The whole event was a blast..........I look forward to doing it again.

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
It was a beautiful day, water was in good shape, nearly everybody got into fish, met some folks I had only known by reputation or moniker, had a fantastic salmon and steak BBQ and a few laughs along the way.
If only every day could be this good.........

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
It was a fun day! Bobby did indeed take first place with a 32" native that was placed into the acclimation tank at Duycks. He was awarded a numbered art print courtesy of ANWS Way to go Bobby!
Team awards went to a certain three gentlemen who scored 5 fish including a close runner-up to Bobby's winning fish
Lots of good food (Thanks to Art and Kathryn Israelson, Jolie Ritchie and Gary Benson) and good fellowship was had by all.
Big thanks go to Rod Brobeck (sp?) of the OWHF for his donation and another big thanks to ifish's own Kinebra for his fantastic donation to the ANWS Broodstock Rodeo.
Thanks to Mark Anderson of First Cast Jigs for his generous donation of his excellent jigs to try out.
Thanks also to ifish for allowing the ANWS to promote the event  and Jerry Dove for the loan of the BBQ.
We gained 10 new members for ANWS through this event
Hope to see you all there next year

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
Like Zaq said, it was a blast, "It blew my mind"
There was a contest with two categories.
1. biggest fish
2. most fish
I was lucky enough to hook a 32 incher which took the largest category. Stew and his crew took most fish category (5)
Let me give everyone a run down.
Get to the hall at 6am or so and gorged on sausage, eggs and pancakes, made our lunch with supplied food and fished all day. released a biggie in the tank headed back at 5pm and oysters were on the grill, shrimp on the platter then comes the steak and baked salmon with all the fixins...washed it down with a cold beverage ...yum, yum, yum. Am I participating next year.........Ummmm...Yes! I suggest you hop on board next year. It was nice meeting you all and I'll be counting down the days.
Everyone did a great, great job organizing this event, I applaud you
Stew,
Thanks for the Invite, hope that carrotmilk works out for ya I have a spot picked out for that painting.

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
The Broodstock Derby was a good time. Our boat hooked 6 and had trouble sticking the hooks and ended up getting two to the boat. One native hen...released and one hatchery. Good day...good company...good times.
Way to go Stew and Bobby for first place.

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
The Broodstock Rodeo was great.
What a fabulous day of fishing, perfect water conditions, very pleasant weather, wonderful food.
Unfortunately, no fish in the boat for Andy or me.
Go MOOKS! is plastered all over town. The boys and girls basketball teams hosted playoff games Saturday at Tillamook High. Both teams are rated #1 in 3A basketball. They installed extra bleachers at both ends of the gym and sold out the place twice. Both teams won on Saturday and now advance to the State Championship tourney in Corvallis.
GO MOOKS!!

Re: So How went the Broodstock Rodeo ??
Here is a pic of Shane... His team coming in first for most fish (5 landed). Shane also won a Lamiglas "Kenai Killer" rod for signing up the most new members for the event.
Hey! Wait a minute! I think I should win that rod!!! Kidding...
