At least 2 weeks to be able to launch at Orchard Point; might be able to launch a shallow draft tri-hull at the dam in a few days....

Its coming up at a decent rate. But now the rain is gone so it may slow. These cold nights arent helping at all.

Should be able to launch most shallow draft boats at orchard point marina by this weekend; almost 2ft deep at the end of the dock. Just need a break in the weather now.....and a boat

Finally got my first bite of the year at fern ridge; couple of tugs and it was gone. A few other guys have caught a few fish out there but it really hasnt turned on yet...any day now....

i found the number to the snack shack at orchard point and they said the launch is open.

and the pay station is broken at this time so this will be a free bee.ill be out in a blu/wt tri hull.hope to land a lunker

out of the chanel.ill be out there by 9:00 or soooo on the 27th.ill let you know what hapens

fished the stumps, the dam, the docks, and nothing .fern 1, bass kisser o.

water temp was at 53 by 1:oopm

I guess its past time I posted some kind of report; fishing is still slow at fern ridge lake. I have banked about six fish in the last 3 weeks, the largest being 5lbs 9oz and the least was 1 lb 11oz. All but two were caught on the senko and the others on a spinnerbait. The lake has been filling pretty fast and has been muddier than usual. I suspect this accounts for the slow fishing. I have to catch 2 7's to catch up with myself so I better get at it, lol

OK, with the recent down pour that we had, the lake is FULL. Not close to it but COMPLETELY full. Its been cold rain so im sure it cooled down a bit.

Went out 4/1 for about three hours. Not a bite. Water varied from 46-50 degrees - got colder near the creek inlets. Also, got extremely muddy near those inlets. Lake is as full as can be. Need some warm days and no rain before it'll be worth a trip.

Emerald has a tournament there on Saturday 4/10. Its supposed to stop raining and warm up before the weekend. Might be good?

That lake was in the mid 50's before the cold rain hit. With it being full things will be a bit different. I was thinking about putting in this weekend but if its cooled to upper 40's i may go to a different lake with fewer inlets.

sshhhh. I'll never tell. But it was cool too. the warmest i found was 51.5. I had only 1 hit in 4 hrs.

Went to fern this evening. I didnt believe it. We found water as high as 55deg but no fish.

is there places to camp at fern ridge or is it day use only? looking for a good place to go camp and catch a mess of crappie that is close to home. i've heard the crappie fishing is good there. any info that anyone can give would be great.

Yes there is a camprground at Richardson park. I believe it opens this weekend, but not 100%
Water has warmed about 10deg in the last week. Water that was 51 on sunday is now 60-62.5.
My Buddy that i took out caught his first LMB ever, 4lb.4oz. He was pumped. After landing the it he said "I'm HOOKED".
