Default Check your nets!

What a sad springer story I have my friends.
Some of you may have even seen this happen to me today.
After putting a nice 20# in the cooler, I proceded to have another classic take down," yank, yank, yank, bob, rip, rip, rip, gotter".
The slab runs hard to the left and tangles around my buddies line, before he could real in. midnight fire drill to get his fish flash off my line, as I could not reel in any more.(the barrell swivell was stuck at the eye of my rod.)
After this mess, we get the fish to boat, my other buddy dips the net, lifts the fish, and it falls through space like a hole in the wall yanking my loose leader like a hangman and pops 30# ultragreen like tinsle.
:depressed: there is a $!^)*&#_%%^$@ hole in the friggen net.)
Apparently, the first fish had thrashed in the net, that the hooks(?) somehow tore through the nylon enough to break it. it was fine when we started this morn. Long story short, check the net.
I still have a knot in my gut. Hopefully gonna fix that tomorow.

I've also learned not to leave them out in the sun for prolonged periods of time. I netted a fish after leaving my net out in direct sun for the summer (couldn't fish due to work), and it ripped right through! Now I keep them in the shed!
