Default Powder coating blade weight?

Does powder coating add much weight or throw the balance off of spinner blades (size #4 or 5 Indiana)? I'd kinda like to try this for the fall salmon run at B-10 this year.

Yes and no. If you get the blade too hot, it will pick up a lot of paint. If you have a fluid bed or good air in the paint, you can usually do blades well with no problem once you get the heat up cycle down. I have been coloring blades for walleye for a couple of years with good success.

Some guys "Trickle" the powder paint onto the blade. They dip a small paint brush into the powder, tap it off, then after heating up the blade, they will tap the brush over the blade to apply an even coat. There is also a guy selling an airbrush set up so you can blow the powder paint onto your heated blades. Do a search on YouTube for buckslayer92. This is TJ's Tackle. Good videos and good source of powder paints for reasonable price.
