Kings last week of March?
Have the last week of March off and have never caught a king in the river yet. Other than the Columbia, what rivers would I have a shot at kings in? Any help would be appreciated. Actually, have not fished for kings either. Thanks

Doubletake,
Go to the Wind River and lose your
virginity. Just don't lose it in
Stevenson  Get out at first
light and pull a flourescent red
Magnum Wiggle Wart behind your boat
25-30 pulls. A little dab of shrimp
salt smelly jelly and a squirt of
wd-40 on the plug should do it for
you.

And follow the funny-looking boat with the Bimini T-Top around and do exactly whatever he does.

Re: Kings last week of March?
Lower Columbia, Multnohlma (?) Channel, or Willamette. Most smaller streams don't see a lot of springers until they warm up a bit later in April.

Re: Kings last week of March?
The Wind dumps into the Columbia on the Washington side about 15 miles upstream of Bonneville dam. A word of caution, I found fishing the Wind pretty addictive last spring (my fist time.) I'm already geting all the new plugs together for this year.
Also don't go there expecting to buy FL orange warts in the area, they sell out pretty quick when things get rolling. Expect windy conditions, the wind can be very difficult to fish thru. Im rambling, good luck!

Wish this wouldn't keep coming to the top. I keep imagining someone trying to sell or trade tickets to a Sacramento Kings/Blazers basketball game.

Re: Kings last week of March?
Doubletake, one thing to think about Wind River & Drano lake, the last week in March. Make sure it's open. '2001 was the first year that the Wind river & Drano lake opened before April 1st in the 25 years I fished springers their........make sure it's open first.

Re: Kings last week of March?
March is a little early for the Wind River. Fish Rainier or Reed Island. Hit the Wind last two weeks of April.
