I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
THANK YOU Slutgoddess, Bob and Stan!!! Great time on the Columbia today fishing for sturgeon! Even saw a couple of other iFishers out there!!
In the end, 15-20 caught, 2 went home with us (one was 47", the other 45").
What a great time that was...cold with rain and ice, but a lot of fun with almost constant hookups.
I am on the right with the 47" fish, TankerMan is to my side with the 45".
Thanks again Slutgoddess, Bob and Stan!!!! Let me know if you ever have empty seats again for sturgeon, or especially for springers!!!

Cool Texan, It was fun fishing next to guys today. It was fun watching you catch all the fish and doing all of the work. You send Bill an invoice for service rendered.
Congratulations!!

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Hey Cool Texan. Good job on landing all those fish today. I still think Slutgoddess should have paid you to reel in all those fish. Glad you like Gator fishing. Now, if we could only change those long horns for webbed feet.

Congratulations! I usually don't announce these kinds of things. You must have a very open kind of hippie like soul.
Too bad it had to happen with a fish.

Cool Texan, had a great time fishing with you today. Now you can trade all that new steelhead tackle for gator gear, can fish when rivers blowen out! The only way I would be a Dallas Cowboy fan is if they drafted Joey Harrington
Thank Bill & Stan for another great day on the river
Bob

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Cool..Tex...Ass .....
It was a great day having a newby to Sturgeon today. You learned fast and were a veteran by anchor pulling time. Nice job of bringing in that keeper.... I only had to tell you one time not to lip him like a bass!
I know that you are from Texas....but you just must stop telling everyone that he was 17 feet long! By the time you get home he will be even longer!
Thank you for taking a leap of faith and fishing with the crew of the SLUTTGODDESS today....You made it a great time for all of us!
Looking forward to fishing with you again!!!
Bill

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Congratualtions on a fun day. If you think the gators are fun, be patient and once you get the hang of steelhead and salmon you will never think Bass again. I know casue I've been there too. Still go back occasionally and have to go bass fishing with my highschool buddies. I would also like to try gator fishing Oregon style that is as I have caught small gators in Texas while bass fishing. I'm just a little scared of the Columbia River and anchoring in heavy waters.

Hi Texass (again) The best part of getting those gators is the consumption process. Hope you enjoy.

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
No, that was NOT 17 feet long. Just 47". However, it DID weigh about 60 pounds...maybe 70....its hard to tell that from the pictures, cuz the camera takes 10 pounds off a fish, and we had about 5 cameras on it!
As for the consumption process, that will occur tonight. I will post tomorrow under my regular "name" (Cool Texan) about the results. The only recipe in my cookbooks is the same one that Slutgoddess and Stan were telling me about.
More tomorrow...
Thanks again Slutgodess, Stan and Bob!! Great time fishing yesterday. Keep me posted on empty seats for springers, or if any of you get out steelhead fishing!!!

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
I see your still showing everybody your favorite spot Bill! Although I haven't caught a fish out of that hole in a couple of months.
Tex, one more west coast game fish to knotch your bedpost with. Glad to see you got out of bed on time. Bill's kind of a rookie at the whole sturgeon thing, I'm glad he got you a fish.
We couldn't pass the opportunity to fish in the snow either. We didn't get into the water untill about 2:00, but still had a great time. Brought about 25 fish to the boat. One 46 incher, and 6 more that required measuring, but came up a bit short. All in about 3.5 hours!

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Favorite spot??? That is the decoy place I take all new guys to....Almost never catch a fish there....Just got lucky this time I guess. Even a blind squirl finds an acorn once in a while!
Favorite spot is.......is......Oh...I forget.
I need a Springer!!!

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Luck nothing... I'm Texass!!! I'm just good!!
And yes, no problems being there on time... I didnt do a fishing trip on the other side of the mountains the day before this trip this time...I've learned my lesson.
So it is now post dinner time.... Scalloped the fish, soaked in milk, then did bread crumbs with a lil salt, garlic, parsley and parmesean cheese... sauteed in a pan... oh yeah, I need more sturgeon meat!!!! YUM! The wife says I need to bring more of that home. Hmmm...sounds like a green light to buy a boat!!!
NorRiv...you had one at 46"?? Yeah, I bet thats a cute one. Mine is bigger than yours!!

Re: I (Cool Texan) lost my virginity today
Sure that's o-kay with your wife!!! You have to always bring up the safety issue when talking to her. I had a small 12' car topper before we got married and told her that while fishng out in the Willamette one day I almost got swamped (not really). The next week I bought a 16' drift boat at the sportsman show. I'm now talking to her about a 21' Northriver. Safety you now!!!
