Default Painting plugs.

I'm wondering what would be the best paint for touching up lures and plugs? I would like to try repainting the whole plug because some of my plugs have a lot of tooth marks on them. It would be nice to find the great colors like Hot Pink & Flo Orange. I was thinking that maybe a clear coat over the paint would give a shine and a added durability. Please give me your thoughts or experience.

Any one but Tilla can respond to this.

go to fishermans and ask for dip paints...josh or jason behind the tackle counter can help you out. The paint costs $4.29 and is very good quality. there is a clear coat you can buy for it too.

Another option is to take your plugs into Bill at BC Angling in Oregon City (next to Fishermen's). For $2 he'll paint just about any plug any color. I've had him do a bunch of custom work for me the past several years and it has all been superb. He can do the scale patterns, stripes, silver flecks (MJ), etc. He does a super metallic pink over a plain silver plug. To top it off he puts a real nice thick layer of clear coat that really extends the life of the paint and plug. I've had K-16's go through an entire season and not get all chewed up (yes, they caught fish!). Depending on the time of year it can take him a couple of weeks to get them done so don't expect to leave them one day and pick them up the next.

Im also have Bill at BC Angling paint my plugs. If you do make sure you remove all hooks, clips, etc from the plug or it will not come back with it after painting.
