Mercer Lake?

Heading down to Mercer lake for the weekend.
Heard there are some nice trout to be had down there. Haven't ever fished it, but that's not going to stop me. Going to throw some rostertails and I am going to bring my fly rod for sure. No boat just a caddis float tube.
Any advice would be welcomed.

I've never fished it for trout though I heard it can be good. We used to take our kids there to fish for perch and catfish. Lots of fun.

Mercer can be great for stocked trout and some nice holdovers. Also has some large Bass and a great population of yellow perch. Almost zero public access except for the lane county ramp at the upper end of the lake. A fee is required to use the ramp . The resort also has a ramp and rental boats, but charges $10.00 to launch and $5.00 to park, What a deal. I have had my best luck trolling and stillfishing bait at this time of year. Wont be stocked for another month. Mercer is a real pretty coastal lake and I have always caught something on my trips there. I think you will like it.

Just curious if you made your trip to mercer. Did you catch anything? How were you fishing.
