Default tenmile lake

thinkin about hittin up tenmile tomorrow morning before all the rain starts headin in.
would it even be worth it, or is the water not warm enough to warrant a try?
its either that or stay in winchester and do some rockfishing, and i dont have enough knowledge of tenmile to make a call..

thanks!

Its alwyas a good time to go to tenmile.. If you can't get anything going spends some time in the channel. The water warms up a little quicker and sometimes you can get a few biters there when all else fails. Good luck.

Blacktailfiend is right...always a good time to be on tenmile....especially with the warm weather trend we've been having. the channel, or stay in the south lake and fish partially back in the arms. pick a southern exposure, water will be a little warmer. fish a jig, senko or texas rigged worm in and around the willows, and off of the dock edges...it's a good place to start anyway.

Good Luck! Let us know how you did. What was the water temp and clarity?

sorry it took me so long to get back w/ my results..
anyway, i didn't catch anything, not even a nibble
but my buddy caught 3 bass!.. ... which had a combined weight of 8 oz!
so, nothing really pic worthy, obviously.
we fished jigs, senkos, and nightcrawlers, with nightcrawlers being the winner for him.
but just seeing bass biting in february does the heart good.

That's a lot of perch, kjangler! Great job. What size were they?

I didnt know tenmile had yellow perch; can you catch them from the bank or do you have to have a boat?

You would need a boat to get to the best places. Last september we caught over 400 in a weekend. It took a long time to fillet them.

It sounds like you know where to find them, kjangler. I wonder if an electric filet knife would work for perch? I hear they work great for crappie. I can't wait to get down there. Haven't fished there for quite a few years, but I'm planning on it this summer.

Were out at Tenmile right now. Today was a practice day for this weekends tourny. Neither myself nor my son got a bite. Did't even see a fish. Water clarity is very clear(see up to 12 ft or so) and the temps were 53.5 this morning and 62 this afternoon. I fish all of the south lake arms with every plastic and jig in my box and used everything else.....nothing. Any helpers????? I needed to figure out the pattern today so I can feel confident for this weekends tourny. Help....Help.... Help

I think since the water temp jumped up so fast they still haven't hit the banks yet!!

In the tourney me and a buddy fished lastweekend we hooked three and lost all of them... two on a crank and one on a jig... the jig was up tight to wood, and the crank in the back of the arm over about 8 ft of water. we had the same problem no fish up shallow really minus the one.. if i were you i would explore a little deeper i think thats where most guys in the tourney caught fish... and there was plenty of limits caught.

for those coastal lakes, i've always had luck with chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, c-rigged brush hogs, and the orange w/ silver fleck brad's wigglers.
