Default renzetti llazer guide alignment tool

I have a Custom power wrapper from Anglers and was wondering if anyone has adapted the Renzetti lazer guide alignment tool to fit their rod lathe. The Renzetti accesory has a bracket that is specificly designed for their lathe. It would by a good accesorie for my power wraper. Right now I align my guides by sight. Is it even worth it to get a lazer aligner?

mtalmadgeoregon,

Personaly I have always used lign of site. I have always aligned the guides, set the rod down, and have come back to it to recheck it. Prior to spinning it I check it again just to make sure. A lazer sounds like a great idea but also sounds like it has its pros and cons as far as getting it set up. I will just stick to te old way. Never had a problem getting them straight. Let us know if you do it and how it goes. Good luck.

mtalmadgeoregon,
How useful a laser will be to you will be determined by whether you want to align your guides relative to each other or relative to the blank. The laser will work fine if you want to align the guides relative to each other but useless if you want to align the guides relative to the blank. The reason is that the laser beam is perfectly straight but blanks are not perfectly straight.
I prefer to align the guides relative to the blank so I find that my old tired eye balls still work the best.

I never thought of it like that. It probably would be better align the guids to the blank in order to use the max eneregy that a given blank has to offer.
