Re: Hats
I love my boonie hat, i am a recruiter in the U.S. Navy, here in vancouver and i got it on one of my tours to the persian gulf, i wear it everytime i go out fishing, it is a desert camo design with a wrap around brim, keeps the rain off of my face and neck. And i usually catch fish when i wear it so it is kind of a luck hat also.

Re: Hats
Over on this side of the hill it isn't rain but snow-10" in the past two days-that we must allow for. So it's my Columbia Yahzoo with gortex, thinsulate, pile and "Elmer Fudd" styling that makes me look like a **** ; but I'm a warm **** .
**** rhmes with "fork"

Re: Hats
It's gotta be the baseball style cap that came with my boat. It's hard for me to find a hat that will fit (about an 8) so when I got these I was estatic and ordered four more. They really fit. Stocking hats are too itchy. Besides the ol baseball hat with the big bill keeps rain off the glasses, especially when I pull over the raingear.

Re: Hats
I've got a camo "Pacific Seafood" baseball cap that I've worn for YEARS. Virtually every picture of me w/ game has me wearing that hat. It's been beat up, soaked, blood-stained and washed way too many times, but it's my good luck charm so....
Until it disintegrates off my head, I'll keep wearing it.

Re: Hats
It's gotta be my Filson waterfowlers hat for the cool and wet days, fishing or hunting. Then, Bait Boy, there is always my Ifish hat for my springer picture.

Re: Hats
I'm with Tilla on the filson, after seeing him show his off for 2 years I broke down and got one. Filson started offering camo last year so I got a camo one. I'm sure glad tilla has a IFish hat for me to use if I catch a Spring Nook ,wait that will cost me a lot more then buying one.

Hats
I love my Stetson with it's "Dale Evans" chin strap. Jen loves her Filson. I have friends who love their stocking caps. What's your topper? Why do you love it?

Re: Hats
Pete,
That chin strap comes in handy. I think all of us have lost a hat or two in the drink on a windy day. T-Bay has claimed a couple from me.
I have a Dorfman Pacific wide brim oilskin with a chin strap. It has vents to breath so it does not get too hot. It works for now. I have been looking at some NogginTops. They make some nice outdoor hats. They are the ones that Dez Young wears on "Hunting with Hank". NogginTops
Ball caps are fine in nice weather, but the rain runs down the back of your neck.

Re: Hats
My columbia camo goofy ear hat with polarfleece on the inside. It may look silly but I'm always warm when wearing it. During the summer my Kansas State ball cap. I've got to wear it because my sister plays ball for them.

Re: Hats
Hey Pete.....You are sure into clothes!!!
In good weather....any old ball cap will do.
When it is real cold I pull out the Otter...
In a weak moment in Soldotna at the Northland Gallery I purchased a sea otter hat with short bill and ear flaps that is so warm that you need to go into a walk in freezer to try it on. It also has the Dale evans tie it down feature so it won't blow away.
I only wear it in very cold or windy or windy and cold conditions...but it is awsome.
Very soft fur and covers ears and neck as well. Please don't ask what I paid for it!
I was smart enough to purchase an ear **** for Mrs SLUTT made from blue fox at the same time. That was a great hit also!
Don't tell P.E.T.A.

Re: Hats
Oh ...I dunno. I just wear my stupid hat. I think it's a "Cat Diesel" hat or something like that. If it's raining..I usually have the hood on my jacket up. Does a great job keeping the wind off the back of my neck. "Hood up" keeps the hat on too.
