Default Alaska boat regs

I have fished the Kenai river and others but always in a guides boat.
This year I'm taking my sabbatical(two months) up north and will take my boat.
I notice the Kenai has a 35hp max in the lower river, my boat runs 40hp. with 8hp kicker.
really don't want to use the kicker to run the river(16' smokercraft).
Does anyone know what the regs will allow,
hear they sell a detune kit for some engines??

thanks
Gordon

They sell detune kits at most marinas up there. Its just a restrictor plate on the air intake. Or just buy a 35horse decal and don't run it too fast

you say you run a 40hp, just use 35 of the 40 if you can restrict the air flow why can't you restrict the throttle and who is going to know the differance, not trying to sound scarcastic but why pay for something you can control, just my thoughts
