Husker, I was just down there a couple weeks ago around the town of Playa Del Carmen, which is about 30 minutes South of Cancun. There is a small fishing village between Play Del Carmen and Cancun called Porto Moreles. I didn't get a chance to fish, but I stopped in and talked with the local fisherman. They charge about $150.00 and they troll about 3-4 miles out in open 25 ft boats. They said they catch Dorado, Mahi Mahi, and a couple others that I can't remember.

Seemed a bit expensive, but the price includes a bucket of Coronas on ice.

Just walk the beach and you will bombarded with charters looking for clients. Tell them you already talked to another guy and he was way cheaper. The price will come right down.
