We have fished the N.F. quite a bit this year. Go early. You can fish hour before sunrise and there are a couple of spots below the deadline that you can fish from the bank. Gets a bit dangerous trying to wade in the dark. Drift a size 10 or 12 glow in the dark corkie with about 1/2" of white yarn. No bait. Just hit the corkie with a flashlight or strobe and only use enough lead to have it touch 2 or 3 times in your drift. Last time down there on the 13th, my wife had three fish in 20 minutes. After sunrise, pink pearl corkie & white yarn with a thumbnail glob of eggs has worked for us. They have been doing pretty good above the hatchery at soapstone also.

Good luck.

Water has been fairly high since Sunday but the color hasn't been that bad. We still have been getting roughly an inch of rain a day so keep checking the hatchery phone.

This river level site is updated twice dailey as well as graphed. Seems to be pretty accurate.

Removed the period from the end. Give this one a try.
