Shasta Lake Reports

Anyone fishing shasta? Curious to hear if the rising water levels are affecting the fishing.

Last I heard from friends looking promising but with the rain, to much red mud
which is good for now. That's to be expected with the low water levels it means the mud holes are filling up. Wish the Los Angeles rains were at Shasta. I loved that lake for family outings before the drought.

last I heard it was down 70' which is much better than the 170+ it had been down. Duck season is over, time to switch boats and get back on the water with a fishing rod.

The lake is sitting at 61' from the crest, the whole lake never gets all muddy
just the river arms for a couple miles. The fish are all in the top 40' of the lake at this point. Best lures are body baits & stick baits in the 2" range on top water. Coho Candy flies in White with a Luhn Jesen 00 50/50 dodger 10' down.

two weeks ago Jeff and I landed 5 Kings and 2 Rainbow all nice size fish
