Default Bill's 89th is asuccess!!!!

Bill came out fishing today, his 89th birthday. We gave him a new 10 foot Shimano rod and an Ambassadeur reel along with various other gear. Bill the proceeded to show us how to land a feisty winter hen. Two more pictures of him fighting and landing fish are posted in picture gallery. Thanks to everyone who helped replace the rod and make this birthday a memorable one for Bill. As Jennie said It's the people here that makes this a great site...

It's a zipper lip. Oh, for you he can be found hanging out with the group at the Boat ramp in Oxbow Park, Sandy River. He'll be back out on Friday. We usually see him a couple days a week.
Thanks for fixing my excessive http's. Never had anyone do that for me before...

I had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with Bill today. Ryanfish did a great job with picking out the rod and putting Bill on his birthday fish. Of course, he better, the way he crowd's in on the guy's spot

And my number came up today - thanks to a tip and encouragement from MrDorkfish. It is really great to get to know fellow Ifishers.

I got a sassy, chrome hatchery hen - about 6 lbs - in the drift MrDorkfish suggested I check out. (And I thought he just wanted me to move along.) Nothing but the basics - drift fishing, pink pearl corky, white yarn and a dab of shrimp oil. That hen was stuffed full of sand shrimp - must of picked every plunker clean on her way up - until I found her

Thanks IFISH!

Navigator, It was nice to see/meet you again...i thought for sure you would pic something up in the tailout where you started, Quite a few times i have witnessed a drifter walk down and pick one up in that same spot you hooked up....a few plunkers will pull out and drift that spot just for that reason...I was happy to see someone get one or two up there....it has been a little slower these days.

Congrats again !
